Taiwan 91 (2002) coin

7 posts
I was tryingto find an area for this coin to log for my collection but was unable to find it. Did I by chance over look it in a different area? I looked in one spot but it jumps from 2001 to 2003, any help is appreciated.
What denomination / value of coin is it please ? I know Taiwan coin dates start in 1911 so yes Year 91 is 2002 but I don't know where to look, as I don't know which coin you have. On this site I did see two pages that jump from 2001 to 2003 so maybe it was one of those -

 Reference Y#551 for 1 Yuan (1981-2007)
also missing  78 (1989)  79 (1990)  80 (1991)  93 (2004)

 Reference Y#565 for 20 Yuan (2001-2003)

I did look up the 20 Yuan and I agree it was only made in 2001 and 2003 so you probably refer to the 1 Yuan coin. Saying that, the list I looked at also agreed with all the above, for the 1 Yuan - so there were
none in 1989/90/91/2002/04 - but also none in 2000/05/07 so I'm not sure myself now !?

Ah well - back to the original question of what is it - sorry for my now pointless waffle - lol.

to solve that riddle - please upload an image of your coin - best obverse and reverse.
we can have a look and add that year to the coin sheet if it's missing. maybe the catalogs had
it wrong, then it would be good to have this information for Numista users

And the catalogues DO get it wrong sometimes! It's not as unimaginable as one might suspect!

My Apologies for the delay in responding medical issues with my hubby prevented me from getting back to everyone. The coin is a Taiwan 91(2002) 1 Yuan and here are the pics. Thank you everyone for your patience.

That looks like an 81 to me, not 91.  The characters read from right to left "8 10 1"  The 8 and 10 are together to count as 80.

yes - I think so, too.
it's 年一十八國民華中, where the 2nd to 4th letter are the ones that are taken into account for the date
it reads 81
