It's pity that you can't show the first type of it. I'm very curious about this possible variety. It's worth to an article.

It doesn't exist. It exists only with two dates.

What do you mean that it doesn't exist? Could you explain a bit deeper please, since I have 2 1999 Kunas and I'd just like to know.

As stated in the first two posts they look the same, with the minting date below the bird, but the other coin also has 1994 on top right. Other than that they look the same.

So if a coin has 1999 below the bird then it must have 1994 to the top right and is KM# 9.2
- which is why it does not exist on KM# 9.1 as that coin does not have the 1994 date on top right.

Similarly the 2001 coin does not have 1994 also on top right so is KM# 9.1 and not KM# 9.2
- which is why 2001 'does not exist' on the KM# 9.2 page. Presumably as KM# 9.2 was issued only in 1999 as a 5-year anniversary issue? And would not therefore be made in 2001 also. The KM# 9.1 is a continuing issue starting in 1993 and still going in 2013.

All that going by the Numista pages - unless someone has pictures to prove otherwise. :)

P.S. Further evidence that 1999 was presumably an anniversary issue is I have seen there is a 2004 coin that does not have 1994 on top right but instead has 1994-2004 below the bird (and is KM# 79). So in 2014 there may be yet another version issued.
