Funny find at a swap meet

Went to the local town swap meet.  Some coin dealer/dude had a bunch of legit stuff but he had some of these...

He was honest at saying these were fake.

They are the size of an Ike dollar, I haven't weighed them yet.  It's funny how the Washington dollars' date is 1865.  Wondering about if I should add them to the catalog or not, under tokens. Dunno.

Just thought I'd share 'em. =)

The 1969 quarter is a real one, isn't it?

I have couple of the fake coins and I chose not to list them in Numista (not even as tokens). Just sharing my thoughts.

I got my over-sized USA coins in November last year, and each is in proportion to the original coin, rather than all one size.  :)

Oh yeah, the normal quarter there was for sizing comparison.

I did happen across the Indian Head version here...

I created a Washington version along the same lines but it hasn't been published yet.

Interesting pieces you have there Zac.

We need a rogues gallery of fake coins with quality pics and how we determined them to be fake. Imagine the sheer quantity of fakes we must all have between us. I think it would be a very useful addition to the site.
Good Idea !
I will write a Numisdoc article about fakes.
Have a look here.

Cracking idea Mr Walder!
Maybe someone could just start a new country called "fakes" in the country list and people could post them there with details about what's fake about them in the coin information.
I am liking Jedsada idea of doing it in a Numisdoc as it is the sort of thing that needs to be tightly monitored as it is quite common for people wrongfully accuse a real coin of being fake!
