A few weeks ago, I bought three beautiful uncirculated coins on eBay. I entered them into the database, but I entered them under the wrong KM number.
Of course, I entered into a swap with a great swapping partner, and he chose one of these coins. When he received them, he let me know what I had done. He's been quite nice about it, and I've offered whatever other swap coins I have that might make up for my mistake.
Other than to publicly announce my embarrassment, I post this to ask a question: Have any of you ever done something similar?
Also known as T. M. Bilderback, author. I'm listed on Amazon.com
I've never entered a coin as the wrong KM, but I have accidentally ticked the box for a proof coin. I caught my mistake before we exchanged coins though.
"What we are is not as important as what we aren't"
I shouldn't worry too much as embarrasing as it is these things happen. What's important is that you have recognised your error and took measures to set it right.
