This contest is based on a contest on another website. This is the first MPCC fully recognized by Numista. Now MPCC has a section of the forum, which will make things easier.
RULES:
1: Every member can enter up to two coin in each of the following categories:
A. Europe
B. Asia
C. Africa
D. North America
E. South America
F. Australia and Pacific Islands
G. Tokens and Medals
H. Fantasy Coins and Unrecognized States (May be combined with G if necessary)
2. In order to submit your coin(s), you will have to have a high quality cropped photograph, or a scan, of your coin. Cropping can be done using Photoscape or a similar program. There must be separate obverse and reverse pictures. The pictures must have the same length and width and must be at least 200X200 PX. Coins will be shown in the actual size you submitted them in. PM me your picture(s). In order to be in the contest, you must submit your coin before January 20, 2014. I am being very generous (this is almost half a year).
3. Voting is quite simple, every member gets one vote for every sub-round. You may vote on your own coin.
4. This will be the second MPCC with a French counterpart, thanks to apuking!
5. The ultimate winner will receive an 1887 NGC MS65 RB British Halfpenny, courtesy of apuking.
6. The category winners will each receive a prize. The prizes will be distributed based on where the winner lives.
7. You may change the coin you entered at any time before the contest begins.
8. You may enter a coin you entered in the last MPCC, but it will not be appreciated. Category winners from last time will not be valid at all, even if it is a entered by a different person. Category winners from MPCC I may be entered only by a different person. You also may not enter the same or similar coin as someone else.
Nooooooo! Much too soon. Give us a break please! I used to enjoy it; now I dread it! I am sorry but the last stages got really dull. Perhaps it is just me that feels that way but the other one seemed to go on for a decade.
I agree, perhaps wait a month or two. The last contest went on a bit too long which is probably why the amount of votes were tailing away towards the end.

You have till January to submit! You can pretend I never posted this till January 19!
Yeah let's leave it a whole to cool off it was murder towards the end, an idea though maybe do seperate contests for the French forum and ours then each of the category winners face off from both forums. Then the ultimate winners ? Just because the participation of the French and English speakers on the last one was crazy and I think this made it drag !
I would merge G and H to have a section for Tokens, Medals and fantasy coins. No need to open a whole new section.
P.S.: I will fly tomorrow for some much-needed holidays and will be gone for 3 weeks, so I won't be able to translate anything into French for that time.

As long as you're not giving out your address then I don't see any issues with it.
I do understand about people breaking in though, that's why I don't allow people to pick up items they've bought off me, or if they really want to pick them up to save postage I make them pick it up from my work.
Of course Cuba is part of central America so yes its part of the North American continent. Essequebo & Demarary is now Guyana so yes its in South America.

Since I did not get the chance to submit or vote for anything in MPCC I & MPCC II, I look forward to submitting pictures in MPCC III. See you in January!
Don´t forget to submit your coins and may the most awesome coin win!

I will not be able to post them in Jan 2014, so if you (dptashny) will PM me your address, I will send them to you now for safe keeping.. That way you can send them to the winners ...

Nooooooo!!! My computer crashed a few months back and now I am using my girlfriends Macintosh - which doesn't have photoshop or any other programs where I can edit photos in a proper way (I can crop them, but the size will be HUGE)

Am I allowed to add 2 coins of each category?
1. I don't care about the size, the pictures will be posted as thumbnails. However, the width must be the same as the height.
2. Of course you are allowed two coins in each category, read the rules!
To be honest, ZuluRaptorSpace, you only have 4 coins, one of which has been in MPCC II, and the other 3 have no chance of winning, so why bother? no offence
I think we should do this starting christmas 2013. I've never really participated in MPCC or MPCC II, so I would like to do so in MPCC III.Sounds good to me!
PS how do I enter coins
Probably not since it is low grade. But it's still cool. If it was up against something in a worse condition or something u really detested then yes I guess so !
btw, do i need to post both obv and rev? i am using a mac, and since i'm not used to work with mac i'm not sure if i can put two pics into one, if you understand what i mean? my gf, whose computer this is, don't know if it's possible. i know i can do it in photoshop, but i s'pose it doesn't work on a mac?
Quote: ngdawabut i s'pose it doesn't work on a mac?
Most everything that adobe programs is done on a Mac first then ported to windows… and Photoshop works better on a Mac than it does on windows...
Since you are a die hard and typical windows user, please do some research first instead of just assuming that nothing works on a Mac ....
To put two images into one: have both images open at the same time. put them side by side. Press shift, command and 4 together. The courser will change to crosshairs. Place the crosshair at the top left corner, press the left mouse button and hold it down and drag to the bottom right corner and release the mouse button. The combined image will be on the desktop. May take a couple or three tries to get the hang of it…
BUT< I think that the images must be submitted as separate OBV and REV images… If not, I know someone will jump in and correct it...
