Good places to buy/find coins in Nederland

9 posts
Hello,
we are visiting Nederland soon. Anyone would know good places to buy/find coins over there ? We will be visiting different cities (Hertgenbosch, Utrech, Amsterdam... maybe some other)
Thank you

I have a good website for euro and more modern coins. No bargains, but the reputation is solid after several transactions. You could order and have mailed to your hotel, or wherever you are staying. I guess it all depends on what kind of coins you're after?
Si vous visiter Belgie aussi, attention au les magasines de numismatiques en Bruxelles, parce-que quand j'ai visité les magasines, les commercants sont irrespectueux et la prix des pieces sont trop cher...

If you are going to Belgium as well, I would advise not to go to the numismatic stores in Brussels as when I visited there, the shopkeepers were very disrespectful and the coins were overpriced  :~

@Lotus07, wo bist du wenn wie brauch du?  ;)
^ Je suggérerais vous crée un PM au Lotus07, il est néerlandais.
^ I would suggest PM-ing Lotus07, as he is dutch.

Bon voyage!
Have a good trip!
University is time consuming, cherish your free time!

Honi soit qui mal y pense.
At the normal post agency of TNT post you can buy the latest 5 euro commemoratives for 5 euro. If lucky there is still the 10 euro of Willem Alexander available.
Another tip would be to visit the money museum in Utrecht. Not sure but I guess there will be a souvenir shop and probably some coincards available.
Enjoy your visit in the Netherlands!

In Amsterdam, there is every Saturday a small market for coins and stamps. They have mostly world coins and a lot of old stamps.
But if I were you, I really would consider to visit the Royal Dutch Mint in Utrecht. It's a beautiful building and you will find a lot of history of the Dutch coinage.
You can also visit Theo Peters' Coinshop in Amsterdam, he has got a lot of interesting coins as well.

Hopefully this will help you to find some interesting coins!
Have a great time in the Netherlands!

Thank you very much for all that ! We will definitely go to the museum in Utrecht ! Do you know if there is a way to have the website in English ?
Do you know exactly where is the market in Amsterdam on Saturday ?

You're welcome. But which website do you mean?
Anyway, the market is on the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal in Amsterdam. Here's a site with some additional information:
