I was playing with the data on the user list page, and came across some interesting facts:

* More than half (55%) of users have not entered a single coin into their Numista collection.

* Less than 16% of users have entered 100 coins or more into their Numista collection.

* 72% of users have not chosen a nationality for their profile.

* Numista users are from 94 different nations.  Of the users who have picked a nationality, 36% are French, 18% are American, 8% are Canadian, 4% are Belgian, 3% are Indian, and 3% are British.  88 other nationalities combined make up the remaining 25%.

* Of the ten most represented nations on Numista, the United States is the fastest growing.  90% of American users joined in 2010 to date.  By comparison, 71% of French users joined in 2010.  India is second fastest with 86% joining in 2010.  The slowest growing is Spain.  Only 58% of Spanish users joined in 2010.

* English speakers might begin to outnumber French speakers as early as 2011.  (Other languages uncommonly represented in this community are, in order, Spanish, Dutch, Italian, German, Polish, and Portuguese.)

* On average, 16 new members join Numista every day.

* Numista's user population increases by about 170% every year, more than double but not quite triple.  At the current rate, the 10,000th user will join in 2011, the 100,000th user will join in 2014, the 1,000,000th user will join in 2016, and the site's user population would exceed the population of Earth before 2026.
That's really interesting  :)  ,
If you're right with the prediction  ,Xavier will have  some troubles with his server again  :D  !

I'm the only maroccan in Numista  :snif:

You are not alone.  There are six other Moroccans on Numista... las054, chouati_salim, fariss30, montel, yousseef, and mgmaximus.

EDIT: However, you are the only Moroccan who has coins for exchange.
Only 5,6 % of Numista member make exchange  :(

Since beginning 2400 exchange between Numista member (4800 rating)

well maybe I'm wrong with my statistics !

it will be interesting to know how many coins cross the country and oceans with all Numista exchange  :D

More precisely:
Since beginning, 275 different members were rated for an exchange. There is a total of 5041 swap feedbacks. However, everyone doesn't leave a feedback, so it's almost impossible to know the exact number of successful swaps.

Over the 1500 swaps that were done with the new swap system (in service since Feb 27, 2010) and that were rated by the members, 34736 coins have been exchanged. These coins have an average weight of 5.1 grams, so these swaps weight 175 kg altogether!
Excellent datas !! thank you so much for your work Xavier and Cerulean !

I think every member should be required to state country he or she resides.
since today we have more than 7500 users - congratulations! :wiz:
I saw the 7499 and thought about registering the 7500 user, but then I looked through the user list instead.

I had a look at the user with the most entered coins, kurt971 - he pretends to have 23137 coins
but when you look closely, he has entered "11" and "33" as number of coins all around (select Belgium or France)

is there a chance to see a list of users who have entered the most different coins?
Are there serious users with more than 15000 different coins?
Humm.. Tony28 has quite a lot of coins... collecting by date and mint...

Some members use "strange" system in the database ! (kurt971, robert1978).
Some members have sooooooo  muchhhhhhhhh  doublessssss  (spanklefish).

I collect by type (by year for switzerland) and actually I have 5280 type of coins (Numista database).
Now for me it's more difficult to make swap on Numista because not easy to find members whose have type of coins that I still not have !

For information, actually the members whose have the biggest collection on Numista (collect by year) have around 5000-6000 different type coin, no more.

so maybe in some years we can find members with 10000 type of coins
Hi,
for my own part , I actually have more than 12 000 different types in my collection.
But it takes a loooong time to input it in Numista !
I'm not sure I'll record all my collection on this site...
