These could be coins or tokens or anything; I have no scales so do not know the weight.
1 Diameter 23mm and feels like aluminium but may be silver.
2 Diameter 25mm and the centre of the reverse looks to have been added later.
3 This I know is a coin (Ottoman Empire 1293 5 Para KM# 728) but where is the regnal number?
Additional information - number 2 has ١٣٠٨ 1308 year which is 1891 in a box at the base.
Number 3 is 10% silver and 22mm diameter and is https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces20843.html
but on there are three different numbers which determine the coin date; I do not know where to look to find that number!? 1293 (1877) ٢ or 1293 (1878) ٣ or 1293 (1879) ٤ date. Thanks
Quote: manxcat12Well, if it is aluminium, it can't possibly be as old as the design would suggest.
Exactly what I thought - I got it in a bag of fairly modern assorted coins, and it has been a mystery for years. I don't know that even if it is a copy what the original would have been.
Quote: glorkarThe middle one is a military service medal from Turkey
Wow - I am truly impressed - I would never have known it was a medal. I guessed it was a 1308 coin which someone liked and added metal on the back to make a brooch with. Now I see it was made like that, including the hole at the top. Thank you so much !
Yes !! Thanks you two - now all three solved (and in less than an hour). Thanks to all who found the information - I would have no idea where to look. Much appreciated.
So number 1 is > Jorvik Coin - Pewter replica of a coin minted at Coppergate in Viking Age York.

[IEDELSTANRExTOBRIx] [SCIPE TR IIO]
Name(s):
penny; denomination
Circumscription Cross/Sword mule; type
Note: It is a mule as they are obverses from two separate coins (see images below).
The first side is from a penny of one of the Saxon kings, AEthelstan (Spink number 1093).
The other side is a "St Peters Penny", with the Sword of Peter, Thor's Hammer, and the legend "SCI PETRI MO" (Spink number 1014), struck circa 919-925 AD by the Viking colonists in York. The legend is abbreviated Latin, for Sancti Petrus Moneta, St Peter's Money.

Is the (1) Viking mule coin/token listed on Numista?
I was recently at the Jorvik centre in York where you could purchase the item in a folder that was hammered from pewter and placed in a folder along with a "Special Edition Coin". The special coin was produced to celebrate the reopening of the centre following flooding. It was a winning design from a school child competition.
Thank you,

What a coincidence - I was today looking through various bags of coins I have and found this ...
which I got as part of a purchase about a year after I got the first one. If only the
original came in a bag like this one, then I would have know straight away where it was from!
No I have not created a page for it - I saw no need, but you can if you like.
