Why are 1994-1996 Syrian coins sparse on eBay?

Any ideas?

I think Syria is one of the banned countries, due to US sanctions. Other that I know of are North Korea and Cuba. I think there is some way to sell them, or some coins from those countries that can be sold, but I don't know how it works

Syrian coins in general are tough to find on eBay since they can't explicitly be listed.

I know that Cuba is similar, then found this

Token collector [1600-1899] with some coins

I initially thought it was that but there are loads of older coins. Just not later ones. I thought eBay used bots to delete listings so anything with the word Syria would be removed, much as Iran is.

Anyhoo, that explains it!

Used to be really common especially the bimetals when they could be openly listed. I remember getting a bag of 1960s Syrian coins around 2018 along with bimetals and 10 pound coins. As for the Russian coins and currency being banned on ebay from a reply to this post, their coins seem to be abundant on ebay even if not from Russian sellers so it seems that this isn't as strictly enforced unlike with Syria, Iran,Cuba and NK. You will find the odd listing sometimes that includes such coins but isn't listed as these countries.
