Hello, i've got a coin that possibly is a Denier. I was trying to identify it with all European Deniers found on the auction sites but without success. I'm asking for help due to my lack of experience and thank you in advance for help ;)

Help still needed ;)

I am no expert but I will try if you provide weight, diameter, and composition if possible but I asume you are thinking it is silver?.

Sorry, i forgot to put it here. Its silver, 0,88g, 20,8mm.

Fairly certain it has something to do with Charlemagne (794 - 812) although I have not nailed down the exact one based on these indicators and the clues you provided. Still trying to get the closest match. Here are a few possible matches to zero in on it among many others. You can work on it as well and maybe we and possibly others can come up with a consensus.

With that cross on the left, then top right looks like  PH  lettering.

On lower right a  V  letter with perhaps  S  after.

Then below the cross may be  X  as in end of  REX  there.

Other side may have Gothic letters  AV  on right.

Unknown what is in the circle?

It is NOT this coin (no + or X on left), but similar

On there that is the Reverse side.

Added H and h on top right, as some places use

the  h  instead of  H  letter - which yours does not, thankfully.

Though also on that page >

Obverse: Distorted Carolinian monogram

which may be why it can not be easily determined, by me.

I wish it would be Charlemagne but in t he top right part of the photo theres definitely letters P and H, something like Philip. Unfortunately none of early king didnt have name starting with that, or even letters like this on coins. Theres also X next to cross, i think its last letter of REX.

Thank you, you put me in a good way to identify my own. Maybe its just one of types of Philip I Deniers. X next to cross looks like end of a “REX” word, maybe i will find something similar with the same lettering.

I thought that X could be the remnants of a cross. Definitely a tough one given the condition.
