With the slight damage at the top of each side, maybe it was a French

(Napoleon III and Queen Victoria) medallion with the loop now cut off.

Something like these 1855 Royal Visit double portraits

but with Victoria wearing a crown.

Then again the portraits may be from

Mariage - Napoléon III and Eugénie [1853]

 Shame not much lettering remaining.

The only readable text left on the coin is ‘Christian IX’

Thanks - I was about to start seeing what letters might be there.

Will see what I can find …

Then the first side looks like this

N#358542

KONG CHRISTIAN IX DRONNING LOUISSE

then maybe also the other side is correct -

with what looks like one portrait in the middle.

Though will look at the lettering - and may be the reverse is

a little different, but looks like FREDERIK OF DENMARK on the right.

This looks a lot like it -

even more so with the aforementioned loop partly cut off

Denmark, Kong Christian IX Dronning Louise,

Kronprinz Frederik, 19th century medal, 22mm 0.86gm

Also on left looks like KRONPRINZ lettering as well,

like yours has - unlike that earlier link with S at the end. .
