About indian coins [solved]

Hi.

I wanted to ask if Indian coins are of poor quality by default, even when the coin in exchange is marked xf/unc. I have had this happen several times, but the situation here is particularly suspicious. This coin should be XF. It shines nicely, but... 

The lions are very detailed, the base is missing. It seems to be a uniformly high splatter. The rupee sign disappears on the right edge. 

On the other side, the man's face and turban details are missing. Maybe just worn out. However, the text at the bottom edge is also odd, maybe it doesn't come out well in the picture, but it looks like some of the depth of the letters seems to be missing. Sanded off? Celebrations A upper part and University S lower part has filled in as well.

Can anyone comment? Did I just get a poor quality coin?

India has really struggled to strike coins well since they started using stainless steel in the late 1980s, although the issues aren't exclusive to coins of that composition. It's not unusual to have a coin like yours that in terms of wear should be XF or higher but has the details of a VF coin.

Thank you very much, I will definitely start asking for pictures of Indian UNC coins as well. I would like to have a slightly clearer picture in my collection. Now try to exchange such a coin again....
