Sorry if thi has already been brought up, but:

I recently got a French coin from 1803 (French Republic year 12): N#24096

I just wonder why these “Boneparte Premier (Consule)” coins are under Napoleon, whoes rule is set to be from 1804 to 1814.

Looking at some of the other coins under Napoleon I, I can see it seems to be a blurry line between premier, republic and empire titels on the coins. Is that the reason, blurred lines between the changes?

I at least wanted to bring this to the attention, to get an explanation

Thanks :D
