Sharp 17th century Schilling – looking for confirmation and opinions

Hello,
I recently found this Schilling in my collection .
The coin seems to be in very sharp condition with strong details.

I would appreciate any opinions about the identification, rarity and overall condition.

Thank you!

It’s a solidus from the city of riga, look through the catalouge and you will find it pretty easily. Also, these are pretty common here in Sweden and I would guess the same for Lithuania, I would probably pay max 10 euro for this one.

:)

Thanks for the input, but I think you missed the details. This is not a standard Riga solidus. If you look closely at the reverse, it has the Elbing city arms (split shield with two crosses), not the Riga keys. Also, the monogram is a non-standard hybrid. This is a documented Suceava forgery (fantasy coin). Standard Riga coins are indeed common, but Suceava hybrids with Elbing reverses are a completely different rarity level. I've already found similar Suceava hybrids sold in major auctions with Obv.: Crowned monogram CR in condition XF/XF+(like NumisBids) for over 110 EUR, but mine Crowned monogram is GR and condition is UNC

Well, it clearly looks like you know more about these than me, I assumed the keys had been worn away as seen with a lot of these. Good luck finding the correct type, no more input from me!

:)
