This is a coin of Karl and not Karl Friedrich this Karl is Wurttemberg-Oels-Juliusburg-Bernstadt. Karl Friedrich coins say Karl Frid. in the legends. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles,_Duke_of_W%C3%BCrttemberg-Bernstadt

It has been changed.

I think a better title would be Carl of Juliusburg-Bernstadt this is how Krause lists him.

According to Wikipedia, from 1697 it is more accurate to say Wurttemberg-Bernstadt:

(though I must admit it is really confusing and probably either way is correct).

It actually seems that the auction houses attribute the types with only “CAROL” coin to Karl Friedrich anyhow:

It looks like KM doesn't even have him (Karl Friedrich) on the list of rulers you showed?

I don't have access to Friedensburg, but Wojcicki is in SIlesia, and I tend to trust their attributions.

Carl is not Carl Frederick and the one that I own was labelled as Carl Frederick but it is not.  This Carl is this guy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles,_Duke_of_W%C3%BCrttemberg-Bernstadt

Carl Friedrick is this guy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Frederick_II,_Duke_of_W%C3%BCrttemberg-Oels

Carl was the duke of Wurttenburg-Juliusburg when his father died in 1684 and then in 1704 his uncle died and he annexed Bernstadt so he ruled both areas at that point and that is when he issued coins.  Doug Nichol who made the German Krause told us that these smaller cadet branches were just lumped into some of the other states categories instead of having their own categories for space reasons. My coin was purchased from the WAG auction and labelled as Carl Frederick and I wrote to them after receiving it that is wasn't Carl Frederick but Carl Siegmund and they thanked me for letting them know.  There is a Polish book  that confirms all of this but I do not have a copy but I will think about buying it or getting a scan of the page.
