I was going through my father's tobacco tin of old/odd coins.  I came across what I believe is a Pittsburgh Landing Camp Shiloh token.  Not sure what it's worth.  If I wanted to sell it, what's the best way to proceed? I have seen that this is a rare find.

Thanks

Without a photo with good detail it is impossible to judge anything.

Ok, but this isn't a photo of the find. How do we know what state of preservation it's in?

@JLHare may have the Fuld catalog with values listed.  Still a picture of yours is required for condition.

4th Edition of Fuld has removed this from the Civil War catalog. Code now is KY-SNL-10. I will make the changes to the page soon to reflect this information.

I will see what I can find out about why it was removed over the weekend.

Sorry, I forgot about this. Fuld is vague on why this is no longer considered a “Civil War Store Card”. Comments have been added and I moved this to medals - Advertising.

This one @ XF sold at auction for $891.25. Not sure about buyers premiums or auction fees included or in addition to this price.

This was in 2003 and it was in the 3rd Edition (2014) that the “store card book revision committee” elected not to include it.  Reason given was “Not considered a store card”. That is from the reference.

Had to go and find my older edition and see if anything was mentioned in it.

Buyer's premium/auction fee is included:

But like JLHare says, it was sold in 2003 so no idea how accurate this price is nowadays.

Here are pictures of the front and back of the token I found in my father’s box of coins.

Very nice.  Estimate - AU details (minimum) / cleaned / verdigris (bronze disease). Might want to start to address that vertigis asap at least to mitigate the issue which is definitely worth looking into for this very special token.

Thank you for the information. I’m taking care of it now. You provided information I didn’t know I didn’t know. Very helpful.
