Again - The Mints

Hello,

when adding a new medal from Canada to the database, why can't I choose “The Royal Canadian Mint” from the list of issuers?

Call me Desdenova, The Eternal Light.

Because it doesn't exist in the database as an issuing entity? As coins usually are not given one and it is listed there as a mint.

Well, how can one add it to the database? I have a medal that was 100% issued by The Royal Canadian Mint. It was struck there and distributed by them.

Call me Desdenova, The Eternal Light.

From the guidelines:

Definition

Some items, especially banknotes, tokens and notgeld, are issued by an entity (bank, company, chamber of commerce, moneyer, etc.) different from the government of the state and from the mint.

It is only when an item bears the name or logo of, for instance, a bank or a company which is at the origin of its issue, that this entity is considered as an issuing entity. Any institution linked to the coin or note but not represented or named on it can be described in comments, but not in the “issuing entity” field.

The Mint that made the medal goes in the Mint field.

Well, you mentioned:

t is only when an item bears the name or logo of, for instance, a bank or a company which is at the origin of its issue, that this entity is considered as an issuing entity.

And in my case the name of the mint is printed in bolt letters on the medal: “The Royal Canadian Mint” yet it is missing from the issuer's list.

Call me Desdenova, The Eternal Light.

If the mint is also the issuing entity, only the mint field should be filled in, leaving the issuing entity field blank.

Do not repeat the information specified in the fields for “issuer”, “mint” and “ruling authority”.

Wanted & swap list (euro coins & world coins, exonumia and banknotes circulated) https://goo.gl/AQjfKp - I have euro & world CC coins for swap.
