Hi everyone,
I’d appreciate confirmation on my attribution for this Late Roman bronze.
Roman Imperial AE3 / nummus (bronze/copper-alloy), non-magnetic
Measurements: 18.77 mm, 2.37 g, ~1.61 mm thick
Obverse: Bust right, laureate/diademed, draped & cuirassed
Obv legend: CONSTANTINVS IVN NOB C (Constantine II as Caesar)
Reverse: GLORIA EXERCITVS — two soldiers facing, each with spear and shield; two standards between them
Exergue mint mark: SMK (= Cyzicus)
Dating: c. AD 325-337????
Catalog guess: RIC VII Cyzicus 82 (please correct if wrong)
Could someone confirm:
that SMK is the correct reading and whether there should be any suffix/field marks I’m missing,
the best RIC number for this exact combination (Constantine II Caesar + two standards + SMK), and
the date range you’d use?
Thank you for your time.
