Currency and Denomination filter are annoying

I find I spend more time fighting the new currency / denomination filters than they seem worth (so I resort to a keyword search).

I have just looked up a French 1/4 Ecu coin. I went to the France section and found Denomination greyed out, apparently I need a currency. So I look under Currency. Ecu is not the currency and I see at least three possible currencies to use. I luckily guessed the right one but it would be much easier to just type the denomination in as in the past.

I also got into a state (which I can't duplicate) where I had “France” selected but the only Currency dropdown option was Denier. Not sure how I got into that state and can't do it again, but I had to start over with a fresh browser tab.

I'd prefer being able to type the denomination or is there a way to figure out the currency given just a denomination that I haven't found?

But they are planning on it apparently 😰
