Focus stacking in coin photography

Hi,

Has anyone have any shareable experience or knowledge about using focus stacking in coin photography?

I'm thinking of trying ‘CameraPixels’ with ‘Zerene Stacker’ but wanted to  seek others' experience before making the (modest) outlay.

Is there really enough depth on a coin to need that?  I'm not familiar with this product but in my past job I accomplished the same increasing the depth of field by closing the aperture on a film or digital camera. 

How narrow is your field of focus for coins to need that or do you want to take pictures of them at an angle?
