Hi

I bought this coin. Maybe someone knows what kind of coin it is. It's an interesting year for this type of coin.

Status changed to Solved (RobertPL, 18 Jan 2026, 09:45)

other side

I think that it is this one:

N#15204

Yes. I think the same. But the year is probably 1873 and that's a surprise.

Looks like a crummy M8 were this coin type wasn't made in. Also the details look a bit off besides the stat it is in. To me it seems to be a fake.

If you give the diameter, weight, thickness and a picture of the edge there might be more signs of something being off.

I bought it recently. I don't have it yet. It's  shipmenting. I'll send more information when I receive it.

If it is not original, why copy it with a different date?

The quality of the coin is poor, but the date intrigued me so I bought it.

Wrong dates are often done to supposedly circumvent laws or often fakers simply don't care what dies they put together.

I have this coin. Below are me the photos this coin.

Diametralnie 17,7.  Weight 2,38g

I'm sanding more photos.

I'm sure it's definitely minted, not cast.

My opinion, this is an original coin.

I noticed this difference, but I'm not knowledgeable on these coins to know if this is expected or unexpected.

Heritage Auction

The wrong date leaves little doubt.  NGS has this coin in its list of the Top 25 Most Commonly Counterfeited World Coins.

In my opinion, the coin is centric. Only the stamp is offset.

The circle is 466pis and the yellow lines are 233pis.

Cool.  You should send it in for grading.

I don't like coins in grades. It's not very popular in my country. I saw on TV that it's very popular in the USA.

I sent an email to:

I'll see, maybe they'll answer.
