During the Bengal Nawabdom (1717–1772), coinage followed the Mughal standard, utilizing gold (Mohurs), silver (Rupees), and copper (Pice/Paisa). While the Nawabs exercised de facto independence, they continued to strike coins in the name of the reigning Mughal Emperor to maintain legitimacy.
