Play Money

I had a plastic 2 Pence with Hong Kong on it so I did a bit of research and
found this site http://plastic-play-money.org/  where I found it was toy money. I think this guy has a wicked collection.
Never actually thought about collecting toy money.  Interesting.

When I was a little kid we used to have a big bag of play money, I didn't find out till later that some of what I thought was plastic play money was actually real coins.  They were aluminium coins from French Polynesia so they were so light I just assumed they were plastic like the rest of them.  If only I'd kept them.
I have a couple "coins" in my collection that were made by L. C. Lauer that were made as toy coins (learned from my limited research). Including this one: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces25159.html

They were made of metal, not plastic, but made as play money.
I came something with a sort of creep-factor in my collecting.  What appears to be a 3rd Reich 10 Phennig Speilgeld (play money).  Made of a light-weight metal.

I agree - can you then vote for that to be added as a reference catalogue at the numista link below

In Germany we have a catalogue for Spielgeld. It is called "Deutsches Kinderspielgeld, Ein Numismatisches Randgebiet" by Günter Aschoff, ISBN Number is 9783866468177.

Found some of the coins on the fleamarkets, long ago when we still had some.
