Geworge V Florin - date not visible

I have  a George V Florin. So much is clear, but it is worn so the date is not visible.

Is there any other way of telling whether this is .925 siver (pre 1920) or .500 silver?

Too difficult for me to tell, unless you can get a good ping sound from it. 

XRF or Sigma metalytic will sort this.
