Hello, this coin was sold to me as a Surat rupee from the Mughal Empire.

Can you confirm this?

Thank you in advance for your answers.

It's more interesting than a common rupee of Surat , this is a coin of the East India company Bombay Presidency so a lot more desireable, no date but the regnal year is 46 of Shah Alam ll, star mintmark.

See some examples here: https://www.zeno.ru/showgallery.php?cat=21747

Looks like zeno website is down, this is the Oriental coin database, the worlds biggest database for lndian coins for e.g. Unlike Numista, many examples of the same type can be compared so you can see parts of the die missing on your coin such as the big star on my dated one

EDIT: now working

Here is my example of the ½ Rupee of the same coin and another similar but quite scarce/ rare type with the date 1825 in a plaque and a small regal crown

I found this coin while doing my research.

I wasn't familiar with these Indian coins and I find them very interesting.

Thank you for your replies.
