Lincoln wheat errors

Can anyone tell me if these are mint errors. I have looked at thousands of wheat pennies and have found only a handful that look like the numbers and letters have been smashed down both obverse and reverse. Is there any value to these?  The 1953-s weighs 3.06 and the 1942 weighs 3.06   - thank you in advance-Coinbum

Hi,

use your google and search with “wheat cent errors” and you'll find what you ask for…..

Sorry ,none of these are listed. But thanks anyway.

What do you mean by “smashed down?” Is this one smashed down?

I suspect all your are seeing is the effect of die wear where the sharp edges become rounded off over time.

You repeat the images, why?

A better close-up.

Of a different coin.  What in the process could smash down the lettering after it was struck by the dies? The dies are the last thing that contacts the surface in the process so this effect is either caused by the dies (not an error) or after the coins left the mint (wear, PMD).
