A search in Coins for “uniface” currently returns over 4345 results, but most of the results aren't uniface and the listings don't contain the word “uniface”.

For example, the first entry is N#312757 . The coin isn't uniface, and searching the ite page for “uniface" (or even “unif”) doesn't find any matches. I viewed the HTML source and a search for unicode failed.

I looked at many other coins listed (which aren't uniface from the images) and found the same situation.

Try searching “Blank” instead. For whatever reason the system changes Uniface to Blank. Even though the guidelines state to put Uniface in the description it still gets changed. I thought there was a discussion about it but I can’t seem to find it.

OK, that explains the result. But it's confusing to see the result of the substitution.

You solved it (sort of).  The search with “blank” results in the exact same coins as “uniface.”  Numista search must consider them equal. All those results that aren't uniface have the word “blank” somewhere on the page.  The first example N#312757 has this

Searching for “uniface” and /no-picture/ works better.
