Togo 2006, 1000 Francs

Hello everyone!

I found this coin in my collection recently and realized that it is not in my online collection. Then I realized that I cannot find it anywhere in catalogs and didn't find any images of it online.

I would appreciate if someone can give me some guidance. Maybe it is not even an NCLT coin, but some fantasy coin, though it is very similar in size, weight and design to this one - N#233126.

Numista already has this KM# 111  N#233126  for “Soccer player kicking a ball into a goal net.”  No idea where the ball is being kicked on the OP's coin.

#111 is a similar one that I put in my post. It is on Numista, and I have seen many pictures of those online. The issue is that I have not found my coin anywhere.

I guess it will stay a mystery…

I'll weigh in.  I think this is either:

• A prototype of a coin that was never mass produced.
• A fantasy coin commissioned by a collector or a company (ex. Coin Invest Trust/CIT).
• An imitation/counterfeit.  

Some of the font looks odd to me (the Es, Ps), the 2006 on the obverse seems odd and the ball that the players are kicking doesn't look quite perfectly round.  The hands on the lion(s) seem off too.  All of this seems strange.  

I searched and searched, I couldn't find any matches to your coin whatsoever.  

So, still a mystery.  Maybe there's a Numista member in Togo that can weigh in if someone reaches out to them?
