Hello,

I found a discrepency between the French and English pages for this coin: 20 Markkaa - KM#39

On the English page (N#1062)

There are 2 variants for the year 1954:

1) Die A - short branches

2) Die B -long branches (mintage included in version with short branches)

On the french page (N#1062)

The variants descriptions are:

1) Branche de l'arbre court (tirage inclus dans la version normale)

2) Branche de l'arbre normale

The 2 variants are reversed on the two pages.

I just added one to my list on the English page, I chose: Die B -long branches

If I go to the french page, it shows: Branche de l'arbre court (= short branches).

One page needs to be corrected.

According to Ole's illustration, the long branch is the normal variant.

So the highest frequency should therefore be for the normal variant, in this case, the english page should be corrected.

Thanks

Adrian

Based on our (=Finnish) latest (2025) catalog, 20 markkaa 1954 has 2 variants, short branches and long branches. Short branches is the rarer version, having a catalog value of 30 eur as VF. The long branch variant is the normal variant.

Thanks for your answer.
So I guess, the english comments should be reversed and match the French ones.

This can cause confusion during swaps between French and English users.
