Reminds me of toning from being buried in wet ground or on the bottom of a stream or river. Obviously can’t say for sure - but it certainly has that look to it. It doesn’t look artificia.
If you are trying to buy it just ask the seller of its history, see what they say.

Thank you for your response. I already bought it a while back. It was a coin I was thinking of getting graded. I did not want to send it off, and it come back with “details” or “questionable toning” on the grade.
