UK 1999 Millennium silver proof KM#1006a [solved]

First off, sorry if this is in the wrong place, please move if needed. I have had loads of these coins over the years, and always assumed they were .925 silver, but quite a few years ago I noticed the certificate for the coin from the Royal Mint says they are in fact .999 silver. I would imagine the RM would be correct and the catalogue wrong . Does the catalogue need changing, or is RM wrong?

Are you sure that the certificate is not for this 999 silver coin?

I have that coin as well, it mentions the gold on the certificate

Since my post I did some searches on ebay and found only the .999 cert attached to the silver coin without the gold plating, including one with a .925 in the title. So, yes, I now have to agree with you.  SCWC got it wrong.

The gold finished one seems to be dated 2000, and the plain silver one is 1999.

Interesting…

All the ones I see on ebay are .999 silver so looks like the entry needs updating. Might be one of the first one to be .999….
