Hello, and I hope you are well!
I am the referee for Central Asia here on Numista. Recently, I have been working with my peer @LEA_Lars, who is the referee for the Abbasid Caliphate, to create new issuers for the provincial Abbasid coins within the catalog. Our proposal would see the creation of 4 new issuers under the umbrella of the Abbasid Caliphate:
Islamic States
----- Abbasid Caliphate
---------- Abbasid Governors ("Abbasid Provinces" maybe?)
----------------Abbasid Governors of Bukhara (For the post Khudat Arab-Bukharan types, ex. N#372149)
--------------- Abbasid Governors of Khwarazm (Drachms in the names of Afrighid Azkaswar II & Arab governors, N#80511)
--------------- Abbasid Governors of Tabaristan (The hemidrachms from Tabaristan, ex. N#111428)
--------------- Abbasid Governors of Eastern Sistan (Drachms from Eastern Sistan, ex. N#80525)
Abbasid Governors of Bukhara
Predecessors: “Bukhar Khudat Dynasty”
Successors: “Samanid Dynasty”
Introduction: Following the Umayyad Caliphate's conquest of Transoxiana and the emergence of the Abbasids, regional Islamic governors minted coins within Bukhara for circulation within the oasis and neighboring cities. These coins were struck in the local style of the Bukhar Khudat Dynasty, but bore Arabic names of the governors.

Abbasid Governors of Khwarazm
Predecessors: “Afrighid Dynasty”
Successors: “Syr Darya Oghuz State”
Introduction: Following the Umayyad Caliphate's conquest of Khwarazm and the emergence of the Abbasids, regional Islamic governors minted coins within the region for local circulation. These coins mimicked the coinage of the last Afrighid ruler Azkaswar II, but included Islamic governor's names in Arabic.

Abbasid Governors of Tabaristan
Predecessors: “Dabuyid Dynasty”, “Sassanian Empire”
Introduction: Tabaristan was a region located on the southern shores of the Caspian Sea, modern day Mazandaran province, Iran. Abbasid governors minted coinage here styled off of Dabuyid and Sassanian drachms.

Abbasid Governors of Eastern Sistan
Predecessors: “Sassanian Empire”
Successors: “Saffarid Dynasty”
Introduction: Eastern Sistan was a province located in the far east of the Caliphate, centered around the desert‑basin region of Zarang (modern‑day Nimruz region near the Iran-Afghanistan-Pakistan border). Sistan served as a launching point for early Muslim armies campaigning into Zabulistan and eastern Afghanistan under both Umayyad and Abbasid rule.

These coins were minted not for general circulation within the Caliphate, but for very specialized regions. As such, we think it would make sense to list them under these new issuers. In the event this request is approved, I wish to assume referee-ship over the Abbasid Governors of Bukhara and the Abbasid Governors of Khwarazm, as their coinage is highly related to the types I work with already.
Thank you and have a wonderful day!
