None of the US Military notes for Japan are given a ruling authority, yet all other Allied military notes do. There is the option of listing them under the Showa period, but since the notes were used during the period of the US Occupation of Japan, and later during the early years of the US Administration of the Ryukyu Islands, I am wondering if there should be a new authority listed in the catalog for these notes, under the name US Occupation / Administration or similar. Listing them under Showa doesn't seem accurate to me as they were not minted by the Japanese government.

Open to thoughts and suggestions regarding this.

Example notes:

N#203392

I'd say that the issuer is the Allied military but the ruling authority is Showa/Hirihito, since the Allies recogized the emperor's position throughout. That was in contrast to Germany, where no local authority was initially recognized.

IF one at all is need then I would also go for the emperor. A bit complicated is the different series that were mostly used in Okinawa and the Ryukyus that were only given back to Japan in the 70s.
