Greek fractional (0.14g 5mm!) to ID [tetartemorion from Lampsakos] [solved]

Hello all,

I just won this Greek fractional silver coin on eBay tonight (seller's photos):

At 0.14g and 5mm diam. this will be the new smallest coin of my collection. The obverse shows a head (Zeus?) with a beard in the Archaic style, and the reverse a Corinthian helmet, or possibly a soldier wearing said helmet. By the style I would say 5th century BCE.

I tried searching the catalogue but this type is not in there. With a little chance one of you experts will know where to look…

Salve, dovrebbe essere un Tetartemorion di Lampsakos in Mysia. Non ne trovo una centrata purtroppo.

Hi,

considering the weight, it must be a Tetartemorion! I'm thinking of this coin from Mysia, Lampsakos.

Thanks very much, guys – Grazie mille!

At first I was a little sceptical, but then I realized that my reverse is off by about 30° and there is actually a face below the helmet:

It's not in great shape compared to the two you've linked, but it's still a witness of earlier fifth-century BCE Greece.
