Hi Ivan, are you able to add photos confirming this case (coin both sides/ with magnet).
Gibraltar 1 Penny has both variants bronze and Cooper plated steel issued in 1994 & 1995. Could be the similar case for IOM.
From 1996, new design is done in magnetic metal only.
Once you provide the photos, I will create the page for precision tools / magnetic.

OK, looks like new type (different metal). I will handle this probably after return from my holiday mid next week.

My 1995 IOM coin is non magnetic, it seems that two types were issued for the same year.

Part of the change over from bronze to copper plated steel, it happened in the UK and territories.

Yes, the similar was on Gibraltar, also from Pobjoy Mint: 1 Penny reported in both metals during the 1994 and 1995.
Similar case was a dacade later with magnetic/non magnetic 5 & 10 pence from IOM.
Will handle with this new page after my return from holiday.

I’ve been doing some research on this topic, what you have there is possibly a rare coin, the change to copper plated steel only took place in 1996, all I can find is that it could be a very late minting before the change of design for the 1996 series and was probably struck on a flan intended for that series one pence. i cannot find any records of the copper plated steel flan being used to mint this coin, only the bronze flan. I’ve asked my friend on the Isle of Man and he hasn't heard of this particular type.

Thanks, It's a very small value for a forgery.
