Two Ancient Coins I’m Struggling to Identify [solved]

5 posts • viewed 111 times

Hello, I don’t know a lot about ancient and I’m trying to identify these two coins. I tried filtering my search on Numista with no luck so far.

First coin is 9.7g, larger than a US cent and quite thick, not silver or gold, and non-metallic

Second coin is 1.4g, much smaller than a US cent, not silver or gold, and non-metallic

any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!

First one is tough, can't see much at the reverse. Looks greek to me.

Second one is late Roman, Arcadius, GLORIA ROMANORVM reverse: N#144083

Thank you for the ID! I’m uploading a couple more photos of the first coin as I realized my lighting was bad the first time around. The reverse is definitely hard to make out, but hopefully these pictures might help at least a little. Thank you again!

It's probably from Olbia: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/index.php?e=olbia&r=&st=1-2&cat=y&im1=&im2=&ru=&ie=&ca=3&no=&v=&a=&dg=&i=&b=&m=&f=&t=&t2=&w=10-15&mt=&u=&g=&c=&wi=&sw=

Thank you SGreg85, it does look like it could be a coin from that page. I appreciate the help!
