1963 predecimal penny found in the garden

Found this 1963 British predecimal penny today of the late Queen Elizabeth II in the walkway between me and my neighbours garden in England. Out of circulation since 1971 I believe. It was in the side soil between the fence and the concrete slab walkway we share. I thought it was a 2 pence at first but as I looked closer I realised it was too big. Nothing valuable by any means but a cool sentimental find. Today the 4th of July being American Independence Day and the year of the coin being the same year JFK was assassinated. Thought i'd share with the fellow coin enthusiasts

Did you report it at the police-office?

For something as modern as this it's not necessary. Though i'm not as clued up on the laws as a metal detectorist would be. I'm pretty sure this wouldn't come under our treasure laws though I could be wrong.

My comment was meant as silly joke only. But it is always nice to find a coin!
