Medieval Islamic coin identification [solved]

4 posts • viewed 122 times

Hello, I recently picked up this coin but I am having trouble identifying it. I am quite new to ancient coins in general, and Islamic coins in particular, so I’m having trouble figuring this out.

The seller described it as “Medieval 13th-14th Cent Islamic Fala” but it wouldn’t surprise me if this wasn’t accurate. It weighs 4.00g and is 22.8mm at its widest point. I believe it is copper but I wouldn’t swear to it.

Thanks for any help!

Thank you, that’s a very helpful starting point. Now that you’ve shared this, I’m wondering if “Fala” in the description from the seller is a typo for “Fals”.

I think it might be this one: N#150708

Will mark as solved.
