How can I identify the issuer of a scrip coin/token with 31560, “good for 5 cents in trade” and a hole in the center

I need some help….is there any way to identify the issuer and location of this scrip or trade/business coin/token?  I found one with a picture and description  in the Numista catalog  N#143994  

Probably not as there's no listing of a reference catalog.  @JLHare has some catalogs he could look through.

I have checked all of my books and did not find anything. Sorry it took so long, the numbered tokens are listed differently in each index and can be in several different places, and it took time to make sure I didn't overlook something.

The seller is located in Canada, but doesn't provide a description for it.  You could contact the seller and ask them if they have any more information about it.  It's very possible that it's actually a merchant token from Canada.

Several slot machine tokens bear a serial number in order to be sure that the winning token does indeed come from the establishment where the machine is located.

Not all tokens like this were for that purpose. At least not according to C. R. Clark - Florida Trade Tokens

This token was a gas meter token. Not sure how that would have been used though. Just stating what the book says.

You're right, there are many "12439" tokens on sale on internet so that might be a type of a coin operated gas meter (you buy 5 cents of gas for a certain amount of time).

If the "31560" is a gas or elctricity dispenser, it should be classed as "other dispenser token"
