Hello everyone,
I came across this 2002 1 Euro coin from Spain, and I noticed it has some unusual features. There appears to be significant damage or possibly a minting error on both the edge and the obverse/reverse sides.
One side seems heavily worn or melted around the rim.
The edge shows deep unevenness or clipping.
The surfaces have some irregular patterns which don’t seem to match regular wear.
I'm wondering:
🔹 Could this be a genuine mint error?
🔹 Or is it just post-mint damage?
🔹 Does it hold any value or collector interest?
I've attached detailed photos of both sides and the edge.
Any insight or opinions from fellow collectors would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance!
