Coins I don't Have

Hello fellow Collectors. I've been collecting since I was a kid. Now that I'm semi retired, I have some time to organize my stash of coins. Thank you for all the helpful suggestions I found here. I was in the process of creating a spreadsheet to track my collection. I wanted to have a view of the coins I have and the coins I need/want. Preferably in the same view. Then I discovered the Numista website. NICE!!! I tried to use the wish list for the one's I want, but it didn't pan out. Is there a simple way to do this?  Thank You

Numista's interface is not friendly for “gotta collect them all” collecting.

If your collection got less than 1000 coins, there are alternatives.

“it didn't pan out.” - why though? There is very little to go by to help with such a vague statement. We don't even know what or how you collect. Are you a generic US-American collector who collected pocket change and now tries to completes date runs? Then yes you might run into problems especially with the wish feature because Numista is more geared towards type collecting. Or did you collect very different world coins on your travels or got the left over currency from family and friends and you now want to fill holes in type series of certain countries? There are wish criteria for that if you don't want to manually like hundreds or thousands of pages but this is more aimed at the swapping feature and you won't be able to extract wish list in an excel format from those.

Not sure exactly what you are looking for but if you have identified the coins you need/want you can have them show up in your exported collection excel file.  For instance, I collect the commemorative quarter series (1999 to present and beyond). After awhile I loose track of what I have and what I still need. I enter the ones I still need into my collection with a private comment, “need”.  I can open the spreadsheet and easily know all I need.

Thank You rsirian1….that's just what I was looking for….Thanks for all the replies and suggestions
