Good morning community, I have a big question about this coin. I just acquired a 1968 Seniti coin, but when I weigh it, it weighs 2.6 grams, as if it were a 1967 Seniti coin. However, official literature and the coin specialist tell me that for that year it should weigh 1.85 grams. Do you know anything about this?

My 1967 weighs 2.62 gr, which is not what SCWC says (1.85), but numista has my indication of the weight.

My 1968 1 seniti coin weighs 2.601 grams and is 17.55 mm in diameter.

 

Numista and the SCWC give the weight of this coin

as 1.85 grams.

 

The SCWC gives 1.85 grams as the weight for the 1967 dated 1 seniti coin, but Numista lists 2.62 grams for that one (as Ole indicated).

 

Can anyone else confirm that their 1968 1 seniti coin weighs about 2.6 grams instead of 1.85 grams? we may need to make a change here if we get confirmation of the higher weight from others…
