We discussed this last year but it seems that, whilst Guatemala was sorted out, Chile still needs fixing. The following changes were proposed.

Combine Real (1541-1817) and Republic Real (1817-1852) into Real (1541-1852), since there was no currency reform in 1817. The description would be 8 Reales = 1 Peso, 16 Reales = 1 Escudo.

Change Old peso (1835-1959) to Peso (1835-1959) since “old” doesn't appear on the coins or notes. The description would be 100 Centavos = 10 Décimos = 1 Peso, 10 Pesos = 1 Condor. We don't need to mention the real or escudo since they are all in the Real (1541-1852) currency.

Change New peso (1975-date) to Peso (1975-date) since “new” doesn't appear on the coins or notes.

The only outstanding issue was the pesos struck between 1817 and 1834 (8 reales resumed production in 1837). However, as long as we include peso in the description of the real, this shouldn't be a problem.

Thank you.  That was probably me who dropped the ball, so I will try to redeem myself.😒

@Quodlibet  Are you OK with these changes?  The logic behind them sounds solid to me.  If a collector wants to see only the coins of the Republic period, this can be done with a sort by date.

Ok, I´ve no problem with this 🙂

The currencies have been renamed and date ranges modified as needed.

For Chile (main section) the coins that were on the “Republic Real” have now all been consolidated to the Real (1541-1852).

The Chilean States Chiloe and Valdivia still seem to have the Republic Real attached, so when I can figure this out (maybe after the database refreshes), then it will be done.
