British Armed Forces - Sixth Issue

6 posts • viewed 71 times

Hello,

Fairly new collector here. I have been collecting British Armed Forces notes and the Sixth Issue has me puzzled. I can not find a definitive difference between the first and second issues. I thought the printers may be the difference but there seem to be conflicting data for both. Could someone please shine some light on this question. Thank you very much.

Always good to post links to the items you're asking about. Help us to help you!

Assuming you meant sixth series, first and second issue.

That is correct, first issue was De La Rue, second issue was, Bradbury Wilkinson…

The 5p and 50p are correct; but the 10p first issue is incorrectly listed as Bradbury…

That is exactly the explanation I was looking for. The incorrect 10 Pence description had me confused. Thank you very much.

The British Armed Forces notes are actually listed as banknotes in major catalogues.

They are NOT exonumia!

Do you disagree with the fact that they are “Military vouchers”?
If not they belong were they are in the numista catalogue (Military vouchers – Numista), together with other military vouchers from across the globe. Just paper vouchers with limited use (though I also do have them in my collection).
