Catalan right-wing political party established in Barcelona in 1891, active until 1936. In 1892, they held an assembly that approved the Bases of Manresa, which were somewhat inspired by the federal model of Catalan self-government and based on the old Catalan constitutions prior to 1714. To commemorate the creation of this political and cultural body, and to raise funds, medals were minted in 1900 with similar characteristics, in terms of modules and metals, to the circulating coins, but without indicating the monetary value. Based on the module, weight, and metal of minting, they would correspond to 5 and 10 centimos of peseta in copper, 1 and 5 pesetas in silver, and 20 and 100 pesetas in gold. All of them were engraved with great quality by Vallmitjana. These high-relief medals were put into circulation as if they were coins, since they had the same weight, diameter and metal as the coins they partially imitated.
