Dear all,
I recently added an auction sale of a gold 1 Ducat token from Hamburg as auctioned by Aurora Numismatica (see https://auctions.aurora.sm/en/lot/14570/germany-hamburg-free-city-medal-ducat-nd-/), but I didn't realize that it is actually a different type than the coin on the Numista page I added it to (see N#336381).
There are clear differences in the lettering ('WOL DEM DER FREUD AN SEINEN KINDERN ERLEBT DAS HILF HERR ZEBAOTH' vs. ‘WOL DEM DER FREVD AN SEINEN KINDERN ER LEBT DAS HILF HERR IESV’) as well as the placement of the word ‘ERLEBT’ and the usage of the letter ‘u’ in stead of ‘v’. The reverse is also different, either with or without ornamentation under the ‘commandment tablets’ and with the words ‘VATER’ vs. ‘VATTER’.
I also found a third variety online, which is even more different.
In summary, there seem to exist at least three different types:
Type 1:

Lettering obverse:
WOL DEM DER FREVD AN SEINEN KINDERN
ER LEBT
DAS HILF HERR
IESV
Lettering reverse:
DV SOLT DEINEN VATTER VND DEINE MVTTER EHREN
AVF DAS DIRS WOHL GEHE
Examples:
Note: there also exists a 2 Ducat (double weight) variety of this type: see https://bmcham.com/products/18th-century-free-city-hamburg-medallic-2-ducat-honor-mother-and-father-ngc-ms65. This is also not yet listed on Numista.
Type 2:

Lettering obverse:
WOL DEM DER FREUD AN SEINEN KINDERN ERLEBT
DAS HILF HERR
ZEBAOTH
Lettering reverse:
DU SOLT DEINEN VATER UND DEINE MUTTER EHREN
AUF DAS DIRS WOHL GEHE

Type 3:
Lettering obverse:
WOL DEM DER FREUD AN SEINEN KINDERN
ERLE- BET
HELFS UNS DIE HEILIGE
DREIFALTIG-
KEIT
Lettering reverse:
DU SOLT DEINEN VATER UND DEINE MUTTER EHREN
AUF DAS DIRS WOHL GEHE

So, my question is: these are 3 very different types of the gold 1 Ducat token. Should these have their own pages, and if so, with what references? All auction pages seem to refer to Slg. Goppel# 1142 (GPH-1142), but I think that Goppel only lists Type 2 and not the other types. However, I cannot verify since I don't own a copy of this work.
Looking forward to your replies!
Best regards,
Gerebernus
