Good day,

I have 1 of these medals in the original box. It was issued to my father from the royal school of mines (UK).

Do you know what the value is?

Kind regards

Lance

The one from the Numista link pictures was sold in 2012 for 170 GBP £

Good morning,

My medal is in mint condition with the box from the royal mint. I would like to sell the medal. If I can get the right price.

Can anyone tell me why it's called a ‘Victoria Medal’?  Why not a Prince Albert Medal?

Because Victoria was the queen when the award was established.  Did you think that is Prince Albert on the obverse? It's actually Henry Thomas De la Beche.

Do you still have this medal, or did you sell it?

Just out of interest.

I do have one myself, but would be interested if this one was different.
