I just got a Euro Starter Kit and when entering each coin individually i thought of introducing another category like coins, banknotes, exonumia etc, named “Sets”.

Why? Because there are lots of sets, official (yearly mint sets) or private (german gazette of coins) that have coins in a sealed or removable set and if you enter each coin in their page does not feel like owning a set :)

I suggest to be implemented like that:

In this new category, add a button named “Create Set” where you can select any amount of coins/tokens/banknotes from numista website and after allocating the NAME of the set, maybe ISSUER if you want, maybe year, you can complete the creation of the set  and see all the selected items in one page. Of course, after selecting the constituent items of the set, you have to add to each individually, informations about the item, like usual: condition, price, private comment etc

Something like this:

You are about a decade+ too late with your suggestion, this was proposed many many times over the years and the road map for this year has the implementation of sets on it.

How they will be implemented is still unknown. I hope they will just be listed separately and be something like a fast input method, linked to all the individual yearlines that are contained in a set. They could get automatically filled when entering a set to your collection still leaving the option to enter individual set coins from broken up sets.

P.S. a starter kit is not really something I would call a set though.

That's a great idea also, but I think we should let the decision of what's a set to each user and decide for their own items, because as you said, Start Kits might be or not depending on who's dealig with them.

Hello,

Coin sets are in the plan for this this year. It is tracked here: https://en.numista.com/forum/topic108347.html

The development will include cataloguing sets, collecting sets, and swapping sets.

Sets will include all official packages from the mints, including mint sets, proof sets, coincards, starter kits, etc.
