Hi,

I think this catalog should be added to Numista, as it has a wealth of information regarding modern chinese coins, and is the source of the catalog numbers that PGCS uses. It lists and describes all the variations of standard circulation coins, commemorative circulation coins, which coins came as sets, and which were released into general circulation.

Suggested Reference Code:  Sun
Title in Chinese: 中国现代流通硬币标准目录(第四版)
Title in English: Standard Catalog of Modern Chinese Circulating Coins (4th Edition)
Name of Author: 孙克勤 (Keqin Sun)
Publisher: 上海科学技术出版社 (Shanghai Scientific & Technical Publishers)
City and country of publication: Shanghai, China
ISBN: 7547862209 (10 digit) / 9787547862209 (13 digit)
Year of publication: 2023
OCLC number: 1408700771

I've attached below scans at 600dpi of the front and back covers of the 4th edition of this book. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to exist a PDF version.

I also have all the relevant information for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd editions of this book, are they worth adding as well? Or does the 4th edition suffice? I do have a scanned PDF copy of the 1st edition.

Many thanks,

Pablo

You can add this book yourself (but it need to be valodated before visible) to the literature section, similar like adding the coins to the coin section (Edit: just realized that I can't find the page to create new book; it's possible to duplicate existing catalogue and I used this option).

Old editions are worth to be added too, because in the future there will be possibility to add the catalogues/books to own collection, so some users can have the older version. PDF can be added if the catalogue is free /no more copyright, so I guess not a case for catalogues from recent years.

But the post here is needed too if this catalogue need to be added as a reference catalogue. I guess this is a case.

Ah, I see. Is this the page you're referring to to add a new book?

https://en.numista.com/literature/contributions/new.php

If so, I'll add the books first and then return to this post once they have been validated.

Thanks,

Pablo

Yes.

Compendium very kindly validated my book submission for the 4th edition, editions 1-3 should be added shortly. Here's the link to it:

https://en.numista.com/literature/volume.php?id=3728

Am I correct in assuming that I don't need to also request to add editions 1-3 as reference catalogs, as the coin catalog numbers are the same in the 4th edition as in the previous ones?

Thanks,

Pablo

Yes, only the newest one edition is usually linked to reference.

Status changed to Done (apuking, 6 Mar 2025, 15:35)

I see that the request was closed, but the catalog is not listed as a reference catalog here (https://en.numista.com/literature/catalogues.php). Does this mean it has been decided that it will not be added?

Thanks,

Pablo
