A modified seated dime, a grand mystery, and a possible double-header?

Potential double-header? This is obverse and reverse, or reverse and obverse. ;)

It's about 4.7625 mm across. Flat edge. Somewhere between 2 and 3 grams. I only have a food scale to work with here.

I do not have the slightest clue what this is. I can't quite make out the letters, despite my handy tools. It almost looks like it says “ONE CNNT” and I couldn't see it any other way.

And lastly, I know this is a seated dime but I was wondering if the imposed symbol has any significance? If it makes a difference, my dad was in the Army and may or may not have acquired this during that time. Not sure if that's a military symbol or what.

For example:  N#122075 Hard to tell with no dimensions and composition.

N#14203

N#19856

or

N#982

This coin N#314650 Probably a soldier's doodling during the civil war then worn like a dog tag.

@rsirian1 thanks. I added some more info about the first coin to the post. I'll look in to these links right away. Kudos.

I think that the large cent was changed into a brothel penny.

Folks used to manipulate the letter  “E” and convert it into   the letter “U”.

I also think that the  dime could have been made into a love token.
